Mr. Medina
Hello Saint Luke Lions!
My name is Mr. Tom Medina and I am excited to be a part of the St. Luke community. I have heard great things about the students of St. Luke and look forward to working with each of you. This year, I will be the 8th Grade Homeroom teacher and Student Council Moderator. In addition, I will be teaching 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies and Language Arts.
I am a product of Catholic education and firmly believe in the values that it teaches. I attended St. Hilary Elementary School from Kindergarten to 8th Grade and went to St. Paul High School in Santa Fe Springs. At these schools I developed a firm foundation in my faith and was challenged to achieve academic excellence. After graduating from St. Paul, I received my Bachelor's Degree from Whittier College. It was during my time at Whittier that I began coaching high school football and confirmed my desire to become a teacher. Immediately following graduation I began attending Azusa Pacific University to earn a Master's Degree in Education. I have spent the last several years working, first for El Rancho Unified School district and more recently Apple Valley Unified School District. I have gained great experience working with students from very different backgrounds and I am excited to bring my knowledge and skill set to the St. Luke family.
In my spare time I enjoy playing guitar, watching Rams Football and spending time with family. Though I am no longer a full time coach, I lend a helping hand to my former football team and enjoy interacting with the players and coaches.
I look forward to a phenomenal year here at Saint Luke Catholic School!
